> > Recent Travels by the World Explorer, David Hatcher Childress
Our recent expedition to Peru and Bolivia began on January 21, 2011. We went with engineer Christopher Dunn, author of the popular books The Giza Power Plant and Lost Technologies of Ancient Egypt. Christopher and I examined the megalithic structures at Tiwanaku and Ollantaytambo for signs of machining and other ancient technology.
We had a great group of WEX members, 11 in all, who joined us in exploring Cuzco, Sacsayhuaman and Machu Picchu. We had our expedition bus taking us around the many megalithic sites around the Sacred Valley and then headed in the same bus to Lake Titicaca, where we took a hyrdrofoil across the lake to the Bolivian side. From there we visited Tiwanaku and Puma Punku as well as the Museum of Precious Metals in La Paz where we saw the astonishing Fuente Magna Bowl with Sumerian writing on it.
The next big WEX Expedition is in the works, details to be annouced later this year. Give the WEX headquarters a call if you are interested or have some suggestions!

WEX Club Tours
Check out the World Explorers Club at www.wexclub.com They don't do many European tours, but their trips are quite interesting from an archeological perspective. Check out David Hatcher Childress' 'Lost Cities' series of travel books and you'll get the feel of his WEX trips. Rick and David are my favorite and only travel guides.
