Join the World Explorers Club on a 12-day expedition to the exciting megaliths of Peru!

Day 1:  Fly to Lima, Peru from your town.  Arrive at approx. 11 pm in Lima. We will all be together at the airport and taxis or a shuttle bus will take us to the hotel.  Overnight at the El Condado Hotel, Miraflores.

Day 2:  Group breakfast “meet and greet.”  We go on a walking tour of Miraflores and visit the Gold Museum, famous for it archeology collection. Overnight at the El Condado Hotel, Miraflores.  

Day 3:  Depart 9 am to Ica and Paracas by bus. We visit the archeology
museum in Ica and see the amazing elongated skulls on display.  We continue
on to Paracas. Overnight at the Paracas Doubletree Resort by Hilton.

Day 4:  We visit the Paracas Museum in the morning and take a boat trip to Islas Ballistas to get a get view of the Candlestick of the Andes and see the amazing marine life at the islands. Paracas Doubletree Resort by Hilton.

Day 5:  We depart for Nazca and check into our hotel around noon. In the afternoon we fly in small planes over the awesome and mysterious Nazca Lines. Overnight at the Casa Hacienda Nasca Oasis.

Day 6:  Depart for Lima on an all day bus trip along the Pan American Highway. Overnight at the El Condado Hotel, Miraflores.

Day 7:  Depart for the airport and fly to Cuzco.  Transfer to the Casa Andina Hotel in central Cuzco. In the afternoon we go on a walking tour of the fascinating ancient capital of the Incas. Overnight at the Casa Andina Hotel.

Day 8:  Depart for a morning tour of Sacsayhuaman, Tambo Machay and the Red Fort, which guarded the  ancient road that came into Cuzco from the North.  We see the bizarre carved stones of Kenko, and return to the hotel in Cuzco. The rest of the afternoon is free.

Day 9:  Depart for Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We check into our hotel and then visit the cyclopean ruins of the Sun Temple. Overnight in Ollantaytambo.

Day 10:  We take the morning train to Machu Picchu for an all-day trip to this
fabulous lost city on a jungle mountaintop along the Urubamba River.
We return to Ollantaytambo in the late afternoon and overnight.

Day 11:  Depart by bus for Cuzco. Check into our hotel in Cuzco. Visit the Sun Temple in Cuzco. Final farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 12:  The morning is free for shopping and exploring. Check out of hotel at noon. We go to the airport and fly back to Lima. Then we get our flights back to the USA.

You need a valid passport but you do not need a visa to Peru.
You can get your visa as you arrive in the country at the airport in Lima. There is no fee.

You do not need to have any vaccinations or special shots of any kind.
There are many ATM machines in Peru and Bolivia now, so it is easy to
withdraw money in downtown areas of the main towns and cities. It will be summer in Peru, but it is still cool in the evenings in the Andes, so bring a jacket. Most toiletries and other things are easily bought in Peru. Alpaca wool sweaters are a popular item for sale in the Andes, so you might plan on buying one when you get there. Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy walking shoes for around the megalithic sites.

This will be an exciting expedition in search of ancient technology, megalithic construction and tons more!

Note: Breakfasts are included but other meals (except the Farwell Dinner)
and drinks are extra. All flights inside Peru are also included. A possible extension can be made after this trip to go to Lake Titicaca in Peru, and then on to Tiwanaku and La Paz in Bolivia. Call or email for further details. The single supplement for the entire 12-day trip is $600.
